Albert lives in North Idaho with his beautiful wife, Eva, and 4 wonderful children. He works as a PA in the mental health field of Psychiatry. He is actively involved in his local SSPX parish Holy Name Society. Albert enjoys spending time with his family and hunting wild game in Idaho. As president of Adelante, he directs the operations of the non-profit organization and is a guide for male pilgrims.
Joanna lives in Boise, Idaho and attends the local SSPX parish. She currently works as an NP for the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Services at the regional hospital in Boise. As Vice President Joanna supports and collaborates to further the achievement of the mission of Adelante and is a guide for the female pilgrims.
Rita flies across a few time zones every year from Northern New York where she is an artist and instructor. Rita has served many leadership roles in her SSPX parish as well as job positions. Eric is an unabashedly proud and blessed resident of the great state of Kentucky, one of the few remaining bulwarks to truthfully claim the title "Land of the Free," where God walks frequently among the hills and hollers and paints the sky over the valley more evenings than not, where the folks are real and the deer, turkey, and coons are "thicker 'n fleas on a hound." He owns a small residential remodeling business, and enjoys keeping up with a small homestead which includes chickens, pigs, a garden, a dog, and a cat (and occasional stray democrats, though they don't last long). Eric is a junior guide and treasurer for the Adelante program.
Junior guides assist the guides with development of pilgrim character and accountability on pilgrim commitments with follow up for "DPGA." (Dreams, Goals, Plans, Actions)
Olivia currently attends a mission chapel in southern Oregon where she owns and runs a small hair salon. Although she now loves owning her own business, Olivia is also an RN and has experience in emergency medicine. She enjoys traveling and any outdoors activity, especially backpacking. Olivia participated in the Idaho Adelante trip as a pilgrim in 2021 and was quickly inspired by the mission and purpose of the apostolate. Since then she has contributed to the cause by becoming a junior guide and helping to mentor and support young women as they reach for excellence.
Adelante Pilgrimage Inc. enlists the services of the priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X to provide daily mass, sacraments, and spiritual direction/formation for pilgrims and guides in parallel with the pillars of the Adelante Program - Spiritual life, Leadership, and Mentorship.
Father Gardner has been chaplain on the Wilderness Expedition and the Mission Challenge, and assists with the preparation for the program each year. He is currently chaplain both for St. Mary's College and Acies, the young adult group in St. Mary's. Fr. Gardner enjoys the varying elements of this trip: the Kingship of Christ, as well as challenges in the outdoors - especially the beautiful country, good literature and discussions, and friendships with people who love God, souls, and have a passion to spread that love.
Fr Buschmann currently resides in Post Falls, ID. He teaches Latin to the high school boys and helps the Dominican Sisters by teaching catechism classes for the lower-school girls. Father has helped as assistant chaplain on the Adelante Idaho Wilderness Expedition and enjoys the opportunity to help our young Catholic adults take their Faith more seriously and to prepare them to start making a difference in the world around them. Through the work of Adelante, we continue to pursue the desire of our priestly society's patron, St Pius X, who once told a group of Cardinals, “The most necessary thing of all at this time is for every parish to possess a group of laymen who will be at the same time virtuous, enlightened, resolute, and truly apostolic.”
